Study Fur in Finland – intensive modules with international participants


CENTRIA University of Applied Sciences has successfully arranged intensive fur modules for people interested about fur education. Modules are developed by FutureFURstudio –project and organized by CENTRIA.


The next module will be FUR DESIGN AND PATTERN MAKING by Japanese designer Manabu Kaminaga from 20th -24th May 2013. Manabu Kaminaga is a talented designer, who is specialized in patternmaking and draping. Kaminaga has worked as a patternmaker and done draping for several companies mostly in Denmark. Year 2009 he has started own business Kaminaga workshop company. During the Fur Design and Patter making -module participants have possibility to drape the pattern to their own design and make it suitable for fur product under Manabu’s guidance.
One of the most popular modules has been DISCOVERING FUR, which introduces participants to the basic knowledge and skills of fur work and different fur techniques. The module includes also an inspirational, instigative and innovative workshop “The Magic of Fur” by within Fur Trade well-known and recognized Professor Basil Kardasis (Royal College of Art). Next DISCOVERING FUR -module will be arranged from 3rd to 12th September 2013.
