MIFUR 2014 – From 4 to 7 March in the Fiera Milano Rho pavilions
The board of directors of Mifur, the International Fur and Leather Exhibition, has announced the dates of the 2014 Exhibition: it will take place in the Fiera Milano trade fair complex in Rho from 4 to 7 March 2014.
Norberto Albertalli, Mifur President, said, “This is an innovative choice as far as the days of the week are concerned, because Mifur 2014 will actually be held from Tuesday to Friday, in other words not at the weekend. We reached this decision after carefully analysing exhibition data and international scenarios. A large number of buyers passing through the turnstiles at our receptions come from Mipel and theMicam, the two leather accessory exhibitions that we have worked with for years: this is real proof that joint communication policies can provide the results we aim to achieve. The busy international calendar of fashion and sector trade shows, which takes up the whole month of February right up to the fur exhibition in Hong Kong that closes on 28th February, has led many operators to ask us to leave them at least a few days before their intensive participation in Mifur, the real testing ground for fashion collections and a time for selective buying by the experts.”
“In order not to lose the 20% of buyers from the leather sector – 1,285 compared to 6,188 buyers from the fur sector (the numbers represent buyers entering the exhibition for the first time and not their subsequent return on later days) – and in order not to hamper the work of exhibitors and visitors at an economically difficult time,” Norberto Albertalli continued, “the Mifur board of directors has decided to hold the exhibition on weekdays, coinciding with Mipel and theMicam for two days (which will take place from 2 to 5 March at the Fiera Milano Rho trade fair complex), and at the same time allowing sector operators to organise their travel, visas and schedules as thoroughly as they can.”
