Congregating over 290 worldwide exhibitors, the Hong Kong International Fur & Fashion Fair 2013 has attracted global buyers. Even amidst economic uncertainties in the Western world, buyers visiting the Fair on the first three days have been at the same level as last year, proving Hong Kong is one of the premier sourcing hub in the fur world. Meanwhile, major buyers have come from Russia, Korea and the Chinese mainland, which is also an extension of visitor trend from 2012.

Bustling atmosphere has prevailed at the Fair this year though fur prices have gone up by 25%-45%, thanks to the resourcefulness of Hong Kong manufacturers in creating beautiful designs which thoughtfully control material cost. To fashion buyers, who had been very active buying at the Fair in previous years, have been less concerned with the rising price as their products are usually not full-fur designs and are incorporating different fur types. Notably, it is not just mink selling at the Fair. Other materials encompassing fox, sable, and chinchilla are as well traded frequently in the last few days, illustrating the full range of fur products are well-received by the market.
