Fur Excellence in Athens 2013, International Fur Fair, finished with great success, in a critical moment for the Fur Industry. Fur Excellence in Athens 2013, International Fur Fair, held in the most modern exhibition center of Greece Metropolitan Expo, in an area of 45.000 sq. between 26-29 of March 2013.

The turnover of the sales and orders placed during the exhibition is up to 10% compared to FEA 2012. The biggest volume of transactions has taken place in the third and fourth day of the Fur Excellence in Athens 2013. More than 1722 persons attended the fair increased 4,5 % compared with those of 2012. Almost all of them consisted of overseas buyers the majority of who were from Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Latvia, etc. Visitors from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus Latvia, China consisted the biggest buyers.

Over 80% of the commercial visitors were from Former Soviet Union republics, 10% from China, 5% from Korea, and 15% from other countries (USA, Europe, etc). Regarding the categories of the visitors, 1196 were buyers, 368 from the Fur Industry, 8 from tanneries, 42 from the Clothing Industry, 10 from Universities and Schools of Design, 92 persons from Department Stores and 16 Designers.

In Fur Excellence in Athens 2013, International Fur Fair, participated 53 Greek Companies and 20 companies from Overseas with high fashion products that attracted the interest of the Exhibitors. The Exhibitors expressed their satisfaction for the results of a well-organized event and especially for the good-scale orders placed.

Various events have taken place during the four days of the Fair. In the first day, the Fur Fashion Show attracted 800 attendees. In the glamorous event that was held as premier highlight of Fur Excellence in Athens 2013, International Fur Fair, 15 companies have presented their creativities and new Fur Fashion Trends.

A historic and glamorous event followed, in One of Athens’ most prestigious edifices, Zappeion Exhibition Hall, which was the perfect setting for NAFA’s gala celebration and fur fashion show. Held on March 27th, 2013, the second evening of the Athens Fur Fair, over 500 guests experienced an evening that brought together the grandeur of the past and excitement for the future. On 28th of March among the top picks of the day were the Young Designers Contest, under NAFA Sponsorship, were new ideas testing the frontier of fur creativity were presented. In addition, various seminars were organized by Vasilis Kardasis and from Russian Designers. Fur Excellence in Athens 2013, continued in the following days, with the visitors enjoying various unique events that empowered Fur Fashion trends.

The President of the Hellenic Association of Furriers, Naoum Ditsios, expressed his satisfaction for the success of the fair, stating:

 “The positive results justify the efforts of the Board, our Staff, and the organizing company ROTTA to hold an International Fur Fair in Athens. Greece develops an International Fair worthy of its Fur Industry and prospects. An International Fair, that showcases the creations of Greek Fur and the position of Greece in the fur trade. The Hellenic Association of Furriers with the support of International Auctions Houses (NAFA, American Legend, Kopenhagen Fur, Saga Furs) will continue in order to justify the expectations of those who believed and invested in this effort.”
